Tell Me I'm Beautiful

You know, marriage is an art. You have to practice to be any good. I'm being serious. It's the little things in marriage that fall through the cracks; especially flirting.  It's no wonder the divorce rate is so high.  We get comfortable with the status quo and aren't willing to shake things up a bit.

I remember how I felt when I first met Hopson.  Butterflies.  I wondered if he noticed me.  I wondered what he thought about me.  Was I cute to him?  Did he think I had a good personality?  I know for all you guys reading this you may be wondering if I'm telling the truth.  Let me clear it up for you...yes it's the truth.

I am a fairly low maintenance kinda girl, but I like for Hopson to tell me I'm beautiful.  I really like flowers:  roses, tulips, Gerber daisies just in case a certain someone happens to be reading this & remembering that I am getting very little sleep & have been a ball of nerves these last few days.  I like it when he looks at me & I can see straight through him and know what he's thinking.  I like it when we can finish each other's sentences & then laugh when we do.

I think that married couples should flirt...a lot.  (A lot more than they do when they were single.)  We may be getting older, but we're not dead.  So all you married people out there, QUIT acting like your too old to flirt!  A look.  A smile.  A little pinch on the fanny can do wonders for your marriage.  It tells your spouse that I still think you're dateable.  It can also tell them other things, but this is a family friendly blog, and I'm not going in that direction, but, yes, flirting leads to that too.

It's great to flirt around your kids, especially when they have no idea what you're doing or thinking.  If you've not done it, try it.  You've not lived until you've been caught by your kids kissing your spouse.  HaHa!  Teenagers really don't like it.  How do they think they arrived here?  What ever.

I'm going to bed.  It's 11:30, and I may turn into a pumpkin at any point now, but tomorrow I may be getting my flirt on!

Celebrating Life!
