Let Me Sleep

Image
For some reason, I find this article hilarious! For the love of Pete, LET ME SLEEP. But, don't tell me when to sleep; where to sleep; or how to sleep. I have found that as I have gotten older I am sleeping less and less.  My mother-in-law told me this would happen.  I really hoped she was making it up, but she wasn't.  I have noticed that I am sleepiest around 8-9, but if I can stay up to 11, I can stay up all night.  Or rather I will stay up at least until 3am.  It would be great, if I were a vampire.  Since I'm not it really stinks. If you are on social media in the middle of the night it is amazing the number of friends who are wide awake with you.  Last month I posted on facebook "I love insomnia, insomnia's my favorite" with a few cute emojies with it.  Someone made me giggle by writing back for me to make sleep my favorite.  Trust me, if I could make sleep my favorite I would. I'm an early bird, so when the sunshine is awake...

Write It Down, I've Officially Lost My Mind

Image
Well, I've done it.  I've officially gone & lost my cotton picking mind.  You know, my life is crazy.  (like every mom I know with multiple involved children.)  Crazy but manageable.  April is beyond it all.  Here's a sampling of April:  Relay for Life, Prom, Interviews for a friend, lacrosse games, practice, dance, dance tryouts, photo classes, an art show & I'm co-chair, Easter, college child's finals & move out by May 2nd.  Yeah, this month is going to be nuts without anything else thrown in, but with everyone's ages it is also easier. Three kids still at home:  all can wake themselves up; shower; clothe; brush their own teeth; wipe their own bottoms; tie their own shoes; make their own lunches. I have one crazy chihuahua, almost 6.  Pretty much house broken.  She doesn't chew up underwear, socks or anything else any more.  It's good.  Well, it was. I want to thank my brother & sister-in-law for intr...

Has Anyone Seen My Caffeine

Image
Oh.my.goodness...I need some caffeine.  I start getting sleepy around 3 in the afternoon.  I am a natural early bird, but I'm probably tired because I've been waking up between 4-4:30.  That is AM and not PM.  Yuck, I don't want to be up that early.  That's morning radio host early, and I'm not a morning radio personality.  I am usually my most tired right at carpool time.  I've fallen asleep in carpool before.  You know what?  NO ONE stopped to make sure I was alive & just sleeping.  They all just drove around me; heaven forgive if they had to stop to help someone.  Thanks guys.  Not. I am so tired right now that there is a good chance that I'm going to falllllllllllll...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.  Just kidding, I didn't really fall asleep while typing this, but I know if I closed my eyed I could.  So on that note, I'm not going to drink any caffeine, I'm going to get ready for bed.  :)  Yea!!! ...

Don't Need Clouds, Need Sunshine

Ugh, I really need some sunshine.  It has been so cloudy and dreary this morning.  Does it make you sleepy?  It does me.  I wanted it to be a pretty day.  My sister is here visiting and we were going to go float in the water for a bit.  I know we could go float even if it's cloudy but it's not as much fun. Yes, this is what the diva side of me looks like.  Can you hear my whining?  To take my mind off the weather I think I'll go cook a few things and pray the sun comes out in a few hours.  Oh well... Celebrating Life! ~ashley

I'm Going to Bed

I'm crying uncle.  It's been a crazy day, and I'm going to bed.  I don't think I could keep my eyes open long enough to complete a thought.  I've fallen asleep a few times while writing a blog entry, and I know the same will happen tonight.  I'll do two postings tomorrow to make up for it.  One entry will be a recipe of something I made tonight for a reception.  I had good reviews of it tonight.  :) It's been a long week and tomorrow is May Day Play Day for Henry.  Y'all have a great night! Celebrating Life & a good night's sleep! ~ashley

Has Anyone Seen My Sleep?

Image
Well, we have the snore guard!  Will there be a good night sleep in store for me tonight?  I've been waking up at least 4-5 times each night because of a certain someone who will remain nameless.  He always tells me to kick him out of the room, but I just don't have the heart to do it.  I just want him to stop snoring...hope springs eternal.   One of my favorite sheep Hopefully I won't be counting any! I so need a good night's sleep.  This past week has been a tad stressful & I've been up at least 18 hours everyday.  I know some of you can function on little sleep, but I tend to get a little snappy if no sleep is had, and right now every fiber in my body is screaming for rest.  My goal is to be in bed by 10, which is early around here.  I have 2 at lax practice, one at a study group & one at a dance clinic...so who knows what will happen.  If you see my sleep, my mind may be with ...

Couch Time

Image
Hopson snores.  And I mean he snores loudly!  When he takes the children hunting not one of them will sleep in the same room with him because you can hear him snoring throughout the entire house.  It's like a freight train.  He has horrible allergies, and I don't know if that is a contributing factor or what, but I've tried kicking him, getting him to roll over, getting him to take a melatonin to help him sleep, but nothing has worked.  It has led to many fitful or no nights of sleep.  I'm not happy if I have no sleep. Right now I'm writing this from my couch in our family room because I just couldn't take another minute of the sound.  It's not a bad place to sleep, but not nearly as comfy or warm as my bed.  He always tells me to kick him out, but I'm awake, so I might as well be productive... Hope is on the horizon!  A dentist who hunts at the same club where the fam hunts told Hopson about an appliance he ...

Someone Needs Her Beauty Sleep

Image
I need to give a shout out to Hoppy & Harry's friends and teachers who read this blog...Hey y'all!  Especially Joe D. (that's from Harry)  Joe, Hop came up with last night's post title & it was so cheesy I had to use it.  You may have thought it was stupid but you read it didn't you?  Ha Ha! I miss my sleep.  I don't remember when it decided to leave, but I really want it to come back.  We can be best buds & I won't complain one bit!!!  I remember my mom getting insomnia when she was my age.  My mother-in-law has it too.  Come to think about it, most women I know have some form of it.  Can I tell you, insomnia stinks? I need sleep, I'm unproductive and cranky when I don't get it.  (my children would quip that I must not be sleeping at all)  I'll have one great night of sleep & then a few nights in a row I wake up at odd times in the middle of the night.  By nature I'm an early riser, but I hate to get o...
