A Year in the Life

I need to learn that when I haven't had a lot of sleep I do not need to write on this blog or anywhere else. Oh.My.Goodness. They say that if you drive while you're very sleepy it's almost like driving under the influence.  Well, I guess that applies to writing as well.  I need to learn to just say no.  I wanted to get the pictures on Pinterest of the Magnolia leaves I used on the buffet table & wanted to  have a blog posting to go with it.  Well, that went well didn't it?  Thankfully a friend called me out...Allyson...yesterday over my phrasing.  I heard how I wanted the sentence to sound in my head, and it was fine.  But, the transfer to the blog was disastrous!  After I got over my mortification I had a pretty good chuckle.  I know y'all all laughed at me, so I might as well laugh at myself too.  But no worries, I promptly fixed it. You will be glad to know that I have finally decided what I want to be when I grow up.  I know I'm 42, but hey, better late than never.  I have decided to be...a Disney princess.  I have thought about this and I have very valid reasons for wanting to be one.       Disney princess are smart.  I know most of them don't come across that way, but when you dig down into their personalities they are.  Most of them end up in some sort of perplexing situation and they have to use their resourcefulness to get out of it.  The only two, I think, who have to wait to be rescued are Aurora, in Sleeping Beauty & Snow White.   Disney Princesses are kind.  Every single one of them is kind to others.  Some may be bristly, but under that rough exterior is a caring young lady.  Some have to deal with hateful step-families, people who have kidnapped them, beasts, war, evil magic, and uncontrollable powers.  In the end they p...

My side of the fam has never had a problem with having a flat bootie.  Quite the opposite actually, we tend to pack a little too much booty especially if we've gained weight.  I was excited when everyone started to love J.Lo & Beyone's booties because it meant curves were in.  I think the appropriate term is 'bootylicious'.  Hopson has the flattest bootie I have ever seen.  His pants sag in the back because he literally has nothing.  Luckily, since he has nothing and I have too much all our children are pretty normal.  They have the potential to build some glutes if they want, but if they don't it will be good too. Elizabeth & I were shopping today & found these at a shop, called Serendipity, that a friend owns.  We had a HUGE laugh at the thought of people actually wearing underware that have bootie pads in them.  I asked DeDa (that's what we call Samantha, the owner of Serendipity) if people actually bought them...

Well the fam had a great spring break!  We were blessed to be able to go to Steamboat Springs, Colorado to go snow skiing.  I grew up going to the beach, so I didn't learn how to ski until I was 32.  I really enjoy it.  The biggest reason is because I love spending the time with the fam.  My kids are good skiers.  Much better than me.  (I guess that's what happens when you learn when you're young.)  My goal is to not lose anyone on the mountain and to not get hurt.  I'm ok with falling, just not hurting myself.  Yes, there's a difference. I'll be posting about the vacay tomorrow, but today is Friday!  Yes, it's farcical Friday. ...and 'what were they thinking' or it's just plain Farcical Friday!  I am not a good interviewee.  I get so nervous.  I don't know why.  I can stand up in front of hundreds or thousands of people, talk into a mike or whatever you need me to do, and not get nervous.  But if I have to explain strengths and weaknesses about myself, it can go bad.  I tend to ramble, (I know you're shocked) and not give a clear concise answer.  It's something I'm working on.  Luckily, Hopson is a great interviewer and he helps me get prepared. I love funny sayings.  The ones that catch you off guard and make you laugh are my favs.  You may try not to laugh, but you can't help it, and if you show it to the right person you might even get a snort along with the laughter. I hope you got a good laugh from my posting Physics is Fun  from a few weeks ago.  I know I had fun posting it.  I was looking at the pictures again the other day and Harry was wondering what in the world I as laughing at, so he came in the kitchen to find out.  He started reading them and was laughing so hard he had his head down on the desk.  I like little moments like that.
